2022 Week 12 Individual Results
Low Scoring Week Brings A Tie
In one of the lowest scoring weeks and lowest performing weeks of the year for the Pick Em, we ended up with a tie at 42 points at the top of the scoreboard. Timmy W. looking for a 2nd straight win had an 8-2 week to reach 42, while Rob A. needed just a 6-4 week to reach the 42 points. As order calls, we move to Rock Paper Scissor for our tiebreaker! Both ended up selecting Rock, so we go to the next level down which is the highest correct confidence point. Both won their 10 (both on Maryland coincidentally), but Timmy failed to win his 9 while Rob had USC pull through to win his 9, so Rob A. takes the Week 12 win and Timmy takes 2nd place. Over in the Wild Card, Brad S. once againtakes the top WC placement, his 3rd straight. The Wild Card had some serious ties get through in Week 12 as well. We were supposed to get down to 12 people but had 4 tie for 12th place, so we move to our penultimate week with 15 alive. We are getting down to 6 next week, so 9 eliminations at steak. Some weekly trends from the games:
Top 5 Tests was the theme of the week, and oh boy were there some failing grades. All 5 top teams were also the most bid on teams of the week. None of them covered their spread, 0-5. TCU (460), Georgia (414), Tennessee (396), Ohio State (389), and Michigan (388) all failed to cover their spread, while only Tennessee lost outright.
On the flip side of the above, three of the covering teams received less than 100 points bid on them as well. South Carolina (78), Kentucky (91), and Baylor (99) were the lowest bid covers of the week.
It was an underdog night until the Pac-12 rolled in. USC (287) and Oregon (273) both won as favorites in close battles. USC looking to get back to glory and is just 2 games away now.
