2022 Week 9 Individual Results
Perfect Again.
Brad S. has done it. Another perfect week. 10-0, 55 points. A 1 confidence on the after-dark game away from our 3rd clean run this season. Brad locks himself in as the last AQ Wild Card bid as well. Ryan H. was next up going 8-2 for 44 points, a good week to secure yourself into the Wild Card. Big shoutout as well to Nick F. for going 0-10, just as hard as 10-0 many would say. And with Week 9 wrapping we are officially into the Wild Card contest as well. The 9 auto bids and the next 21 highest scores of the season are now entered into the side contest. As a reminder for the format, our 30 are all competing in a survive and advance style weekly contest. Every week the lowest 6 scores will be eliminated which will leave us with 6 final entries going into the final week of the season competing for prizes given to the top 2 of the 6 that week. In the Wild Card, scores don’t accumulate over weeks so each week everyone will start at 0 and it will just be that week’s scores. If there are any ties on the last spot then everyone advances, but that increases the eliminations the following week. In addition to the weekly prize for the overall pool, there will be an additional prize for the highest score in the Wild Card each week. If you fell short of the entry line or get eliminated from the Wild Card then you are always still alive for the overall pool weekly prizes and season long prizes, nothing changes in the overall side! Check your spot in the standings here to see if you made the cut.
Some weekly trends from the games:
The public had a tough week as the top 4 highest bid teams all failed to cover. Wake Forest (462), Ohio State (405), Michigan (396), and Oklahoma State (383) all fall short of their numbers.
Two games Vegas was right on the number with the hook being the factor in the cover. Florida (181) and Michigan State (100) both were +22.5 and both lose by exactly 22. Good teams win, great teams cover.
In the first game of the day we almost had the biggest collapse ever with Penn State (137) having the lead in the 4th looking like they were going to win outright before letting up 4 scores almost instantly and being outside the cover number. A garbage time td at the very end gives them enough to still seem somewhat respectable.
