2019 Week 1 Results

Week 1 saw a rare tiebreaker being used for the winner. It came down to Sunday night with Houston covering to put Dyer into a tie with Kelsey but Dyer’s tiebreaker (45) was only 3 points from the total score of the tiebreaker game, Oregon-Auburn (27-21), while Kelsey (55) was only 7 points away she fell just short of the Week 1 win. Dyer takes the title and has earned the first automatic qualifying spot into the Wild Card Playoff starting Week 11.

Week 1 trends:

  • Ohio State had 340 total points bid on them (10.1% of all bids) and did not cover losing dozens of peoples 8-10 picks. (45-21, OSU -27.5)

  • Alabama had 355 total points bid on them (10.5% of all bids) and pulled out the cover at the end to the pleasure of many. (42-3, Bama -34.5)

  • Ole Miss vs Memphis was nearly evenly split (30 people picked Ole Miss, 31 picked Memphis) and came down to the .5 on the spread helping Ole Miss cover (15-10, Ole miss +5.5)

  • Ted S and Kevin M both went 8-2 for top records of the week, but Ted lost his 7 (OSU) and 10 (USC) while Kevin lost his 8 (VT) and 9 (Memphis) keeping them out of the prize pool for the week.

  • While we are still chasing the first 10-0 week, Matt R kicked us off with our first 0-10 week of the season.
