Stephen U. Pulls Out Late Win In First Wild Card Week.
What a great week to kick-off November and the first week of our Wild Card! It came down to the final game of the week with USC covering giving us one winner, and Arizona State covering giving us another, and ultimately, Stephen U. pulled out the only 8-2 week on the board to win the week by 1 point with 44 points. That win gives him the weekly prize, and also launched his into the top 10 overall for the season. In the Wild Card we had quite the finish where 3 people actually tied for 20th at the end of the week. Tie’s will always advance so turns out we only have 3 eliminations this week from the Wild Card: Liam B., Nick L., and Tim F. all take the bow out. What this means for next week is that instead of the bottom 5 eliminated it will now be the bottom 7 taken out! Everyone’s scores in that Wild Card will reset to 0 again next week and it will be a 1 week competition to find the top 15. See below for some notes on the games of the week:
The highest bid team of the week goes to Michigan State (395) who definitely was the fakest #3 team ever as they easily lose their first game to Purdue (94).
In probably the craziest game of the week, vegas had 4-4 North Carolina (109) favored over an undefeated top 10 team. It seemed like a weird mistake after Wake Forest (280) went up 20 in the 2nd half, but Vegas knows all and UNC ended up covering that game by .5 in the end of it winning 58-55.
One of the rare weeks were Alabama (236) is not the heavily picked team and rightfully so. They failed to even put up 29 points in their -28.5 spread game as LSU (115) played their best game of the season to easily cover.
The night games is where our upsets happened for the most part. In the last 5 games, the team that covered in e4 of them were the lower picked team in the Pick Em: LSU (115), Boise State (50), Tennessee (105), and Arizona State (102). That always helps for a lower-scoring week.
