After Dark Madness Decides Winner

The 10-0’s have come and gone and we are back to our normal madness of letting the after-dark games decide our fates. As USC held on and the Troops laid it on in sin city, Collin H. came out on top this week going 8-2 for 47 points. Collin locks in his position to the Wild Card with just two weeks left. Stephanie C. was close behind in 2nd place with her own 8-2 week for 45 points. I would be remise to not mention there was a brief moment after the afternoon slate where the two 10-0 men sat atop the leaderboard in position to take the wins.

It was a nice moment for a time, but I needed Utah and Aidan needed UNLV so fair game to Collin for a good win. Wild Card kicks off in Week 10 and as of now 3 people who locked in their position would be otherwise out based on points. If you are aiming to get in you have two weeks to lock it in! As always, see the latest standings here.

Some weekly trends from the games:

  • Another great week for the heavy handed teams. Clemson (566) and USC (401) cover their spreads. Clemson is the highest bid team since Week 2, and the 2nd highest to cover.

  • On that same trend it was a very favorable public week. Oklahoma (148) and Syracuse (180) were the only two lower bid teams to cover all week. Beware what that means next week…. (we only had 15 people below 5-5 overall this week)

  • The possibly wildest game of the week goes to the Big12 showdown where Oklahoma State (292) was leading and covering all game before an epic collapse and nearly blowing the cover in OT as well. TCU (234) wins but the vegas hook at 3.5 prevails for the spread.
