Peter S. Takes Close Week 13, Wildcard Goes To 5
Despite going 1-2 in the night set, Peter S. has a strong 7-3 week for 48 points to beat three close people at 47 right behind him. Peter makes it three straight weeks the weekly winner hadn’t even qualified for the Wildcard as well. Maybe next year, who knows. Peter lost his 1, 2, and 4 confidence which was enough to beat out 4 different 8-2 records and even a 9-1 week, tough to see. It was a solid even week throughout the scoreboard for the Pickem as a whole with a few tight games that came down to the last plays for the spread. In the Wildcard, we had 6 eliminated and we are officially into our top 5 and the pay week for them as well. Shoutout to our official top 5: Rob A., Zitello MN., Travis B., Ryan GL., Matt N. The top 2 of you next week will be our winners. In the overall standings, we have a very tight race for the entire top 3 with a good handful of people involved. But our current top 3 going into the last week are: 1. Rob A., 2. Ryan GL., 3. Jeremy M. So we have realistically 3 double dip chances with Rob, Ryan, and Travis who is in 4th overall right now as well. Gonna be an exciting finish! In quite a thrilling game, Michigan (95) finally appears to maybe be back. There were tons of 10’s and 9’s on both sides of the ball as Ohio State (403) was our top picked team of the week.
Three different games were decided by 0.5 points from the spread, one in thrilling fashion. Kent State (161) stopped a 2 point conversion from Miami (72) in OT to win by 1 and cover the -0.5 spread. Oklahoma (184) managed to cover the +4.5 by losing by 4 exactly. And Florida (273) covered their -2.5 spread by beating Florida State (75) by 3 and clinching their bowl birth.
Alabama (226) hasn’t been covering their huge spreads as often but that may have been the finish of the week with Auburn (135) showing they don’t need Bo Nix to choke away a game yet again.
